The Toyota Advantage-Leaders in Energy Efficiency*
Among automakers, Toyota has done an exceptional job in the area of energy efficiency while maintaining a high level of performance in their vehicles. On top of this, Toyota has earned a reputation for making solid, reliable, and quality vehicles that will last. Toyota has also ignited the trend of hybrids. Utilizing hybrid synergy drive,Toyota is leading the way with numerous hybrid variations of mainstream models such as the highlander hybrid which combined hybrid efficiency with 3 rows and 7 seats. Lexus, a luxury division of Toyota is also making efficiency luxurious as well. On Cnet (http://reviews.cnet.com/sedan/2008-lexus-ls-600h/4505-10865_7-32431953.html) , the feature-rich Lexus LS600h was deemed an editors choice and got a spectacular rating of 9.7/10. Not only is that model a hybrid but it can also park itself when optioned up. This vehicle is a showcase of technologies implemented all across the Toyota line. For those with a more strict budget however, people can look to the Toyota Prius Hybrid; the car that made its way to being the highest volume production hybrid with over a million sales worldwide. With an astounding EPA fuel economy of 60/51 (City/Highway), it may still run on fuel but it does so using less of it. Other cars such as the mainstream camry and the best selling corolla make the most of their conventional engines utilizing advanced variable valve timing, and other features to maximize fuel economy. Those who purchase Toyota's are not dissapointed. The following is from a consumer review found on edmunds.com of the Toyota Prius(http://www.edmunds.com/toyota/prius/2008/consumerreview.html)

Ultimately, Toyota's are cars that take energy efficiency seriously but don't afford to compromise other characteristics of the vehicle.
