What Else Can YOU Do?

Energy efficiency is not limited just to the automibile segment. Architecture of homes, specifications of appliances, and energy consumption of television sets can all influence an overall energy consumtion in a community. This energy consumption is not directly linked to petroleum since homes are ran by primarily electricity but we must understand that electricity is something more than just a renewable source of energy. Electricity is a derivative primarily of fossil fuels. A vast majority of the electricty produced nationwide is the product of burning coal or petroleum and think about it. The transportation used to transport equipment to the electricity plant, the plastic and rubber materials used in the equipment that will harness electricity, and even the petroleum-based casings of cell-phones utilized by workers at the plant for communication are there because of petroleum. High electricity demand appliances such as a refrigerator in a way are also consuming petroleum if you think about this in a broader view. Now that technology is on the increase and computers using electricity are everywhere electricity demand is rising significantly. Now that we know how to spend the electricity, now its time to learn how to conserve. It's not difficult however to start saving energy (and $) around the house and wherever you go. By conserving energy we are making our future brighter.
